A shiny new (to us) bike as arrived! A 2000 Suzuki Bandit GSF1200S – dark blue in very nice shape.
We spent a lot more than we originally wanted, but that was due to 2 reasons: 1) I was tired of looking, and b) everything is so damned expensive here! But the bike is great – it’s got loads of torque and zips right along. It’s a whole lot lighter than the Connie which is nice, but I think I’ll miss all the storage the connie has. We’ve ordered a Ventura tail bag thing that’ll give Colette a little something to lean on (although it’s clearly marked as Not A Backrest – sincerely Lawyers). She says it’s not so much to lean on, just a little security when I take off too quickly.
Here’s a 2004 model, but it’s nearly identical to our bike. Real photos to come soon:

hallelujia! i actually considered one of these…they seem like really nice bikes. gobs o’ torque, comfortable seating position, stone reliable, nice sized frame mounted fairing, large, bright eyeballs. question: what does co think of the footpeg position? linda thought that they were rather high, and would probably cramp her legs….
there’s a large aftermarket available for them…killer motors, nice seats, all sorts of neat and groovy stuff.
Co says the pegs are high too. She says it’s only a problem when I’m going downhill and she doesn’t have anything to brace against.
you know if you and paul had married women with longer legs like mine those foot pegs probably would be perfect. he he That is a really nice looking bike. Jeff would like to maybe get one next year but we’ll see.
