It was such a sad afternoon yesterday I completely blocked the loss of the Brisbane Lions to the Port Adalaide Power in the AFL Grand Final. Bummer for all of Queensland.

I’ve put up some more pics. This time from a short trip to Mapleton Falls National Park which is about 40 minutes from our apartment. It’s a pretty small park in the middle of a rainforest, but it was a nice little walk. Check out the pics here:

mmmmm, fishy fishy fish. Colette & I went out for some yummy sushi last night. I had the chef special (or whatever) that included sea urchin. It was a strange brownish color (excuse me, colour) but it was pretty tasty – kind of buttery. They also had a cucumber roll that was stuffed with wasabi. [...]

Mates Up/Over is geared mostly to Aussies living in the US, but it’s pretty fascinating reading to find the differences between the 2 cultures. Especially good is the Culture Shock page! You can use it to translate between the 2 ‘languages’. Some day I’ll have to put together all the aussie slang I’ve picked up.
