Kondalilla Falls

A couple weekends ago we went up into the hinterland near Montville to the Kondalilla Falls National Park. We had a very nice day doing some wine tasting, some cheese tasting (not so good), and general goofing off. Then we hiked the couple-kilometer trail up and around this gorge near a waterfall (hence, the name of the park). It was a very nice day! The park was especially lush given all the rain we’ve had here lately.
Anyway, some pictures have been added to the photo page.
This last weekend we finally hiked up Mount Coolum, which is about 20 minutes from our house (in heavy traffic). It’s this little volcanic dome right on the coast just north of us. We’ve always joked with people who’ve hiked it since it’s not very tall and it doesn’t look like much. Well, we found out it’s almost a straight climb up! My thighs are complaining today! But what a nice view at the top. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring our camera so no photos. You’ll have to make do with the link. There are some other panoramas on that page from Mooloolaba. You can see the beach we hang out on! But they asked us to leave before they took the photos. Something about the glare from our whitie skin was causing problems with the capture. Go figure.
