One fun evening we had in New Zealand was in Otorohanga. It was Saturday night and Colette, Howard, and I went to the pub (it’s a really small town on the way to the glowworm caves) for a beer, some munchies, and watch the New Zealand All Blacks play the South African Springboks in Rugby. The All Blacks always do a haka before the game. This is a traditional Maori war chant intended to intimidate their enemies. Well, that night, being a pre-final game in the Tri-Nations series (Australia being the other nation), they led with an entire new haka. Very fun to watch & the entire pub loved it.
Of course, that night we also had a pleasant introduction to Otorohanga’s finest. I got pulled over for doing 70 in a 50 KPH zone. Fortunately, the guy was in a good mood and I was a tourist spending money in his town so he let me off saying “Pay attention to those round signs with the numbers in them.”
Great Beer Ads
Not sure how long this link we’ll be valid, but Carlton Draught has some great TV ads.
