It’s officially two years since leaving Rochester. Of course, our 2 year anniversary in Oz will be Monday, but we like to count from the 18th.
We’re looking forward to heading home – only 3 1/2 months to go. In 2 months Paul & Linda are coming down to help us move! Isn’t that nice of them? They think they’re going to be tourists, but we’re actually planning on having them help sell all our crap. Don’t tell ‘em though. It’s a secret.
Here’s a list of things we haven’t done in Australia (and NZ) and I don’t think we’ll have the time or money to do before we leave (sigh):
- Drive the Great Ocean Road
- Uluru (Ayer’s Rock)
- Visit Whitsunday Islands
- Go to Tasmania (although we might actually do this one)
- Visit Fraser Island (we might get to this)
- Visit the south island of New Zealand – Christchurch, Dunedin
- Go to the real outback
But we have done a lot:
- Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef
- Visited Sydney (almost as often as going to Brisbane)
- Canberra
- Melbourne
- Gold Coast
- Auckland & the North Island of NZ
- Saw koalas, kangaroos (loads), kukaburras, parrots, lorrikeets and other noisy birds, all in the wild
- Swam in the South Pacific
- Met lots of great people
- Learned loads of new words (and not just for beer)
