Well, we didn’t do so badly on our first (and only) Christmas day in Queensland. It was stinking hot & humid, just like it’s supposed to be I guess. We got some cool prezzies and a lot of gift certificates to Amazon. Yay for Amazon! You can check out some pictures here

On our anniversary we met up with some friends at the local horse racing park to celebrate the Melbourne Cup. Well, spring is done. It lasted about 5 hours. Today was 37 celsius (97 fahrenheit) and tomorrow is supposed to be 36 before cooling back down a bit on Sunday. Whew. Tomorrow morning my big job is to get the air conditioner in the window. Then it’s off to the beach for the day!

Last Sunday we went up to the Coolum Kite Festival. It was quite a site! These were not your ordinary Ben Franklin kites – these were huge 3-dimensional constructions!
